1. About Us and These Terms
1.1. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your membership of BPT Academy, your use of the BPT Academy mobile app, and your participation in our coaching programmes, sessions and tournaments.
1.2. BPT Academy is operated by BPT ACADEMY LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16487239), registered office: 12 Lakeside Rise, Manchester, England, M9 8QD. Contact: office@bptacademy.uk.
1.3. Training takes place at BigBox Padel Club, Tandem Industrial Estate, Wakefield Rd, Huddersfield, HD5 0AL, or such other venue as we notify you of in the app.
1.4. By creating an account in the BPT Academy app, joining a programme or entering a tournament, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Membership and Your Account
2.1. BPT Academy is a members-only academy. Accounts are created through the BPT Academy app and are subject to approval by our team.
2.2. You must provide accurate, current information when registering and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account.
2.3. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.
2.4. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
3. Programmes, Enrolment and Waiting Lists
3.1. Places on programmes are limited. Joining a waiting list does not guarantee a place; places are confirmed when your enrolment is approved and payment is made.
3.2. Placement in a division or skill level is at the reasonable discretion of our coaching team, based on assessment of your ability. Promotion between levels is determined through our skill assessment system.
3.3. Session days and times are published in the app. We may make reasonable changes to schedules, coaches or venue and will notify you through the app.
4. Fees, Payments and Subscriptions
4.1. Programme fees are shown in the app at the time of enrolment. Amateur programme fees are collected as a monthly subscription, paid by card through our secure payment provider, Stripe. Your subscription starts when your enrolment is approved and renews automatically each month on the same day until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your card the programme fee each month on a recurring basis. Your card details are handled and stored securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
4.2. Other programmes and tournament fees may be payable by card or bank transfer as instructed in the app. If you currently pay an amateur programme by bank transfer, you can move to the monthly card subscription the next time you enrol or re-enrol.
4.3. If a monthly payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry it over the following days. If the payment still cannot be collected, your subscription may be cancelled, and your place may then be offered to students on the waiting list.
4.4. We may change programme fees from time to time. Fee changes will not affect a subscription mid-cycle: we will give you notice before any change takes effect at a renewal.
5. Cancellation and Cooling-Off
5.1. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your programme page in the BPT Academy app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access to your sessions until then. Payments already made are non-refundable.
5.2. Subscriptions cannot be cancelled in-app during the final 14 days of a programme term, as coaching groups for the following term are organised during this window. If you have exceptional circumstances, please contact office@bptacademy.uk.
5.3. If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of enrolling. By enrolling in a programme that begins within that period, you request that we start providing services during the cooling-off period; if you cancel within it, you will be charged proportionately for services already provided, and any remaining balance will be refunded.
6. Missed Sessions and Cancellations by Us
6.1. Fees pay for your place on a programme, not for individual sessions. Sessions you miss for any reason (including illness, holiday or no-show) are not refundable, transferable or eligible for make-up sessions.
6.2. If we cancel a session (for example due to coach unavailability or venue closure), we will use reasonable efforts to reschedule it. If we cannot, we will credit or refund a proportionate amount.
7. Juniors, Parents and Guardians
7.1. Students under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on the junior’s behalf and is responsible for all fees.
7.2. Parents/guardians are responsible for dropping off and collecting juniors punctually. Our duty of care applies during scheduled sessions only.
7.3. Parents/guardians must ensure the junior’s emergency contact and relevant medical information in the app are accurate and up to date.
7.4. Safeguarding concerns should be raised with us at office@bptacademy.uk.
8. Health, Safety and Liability
8.1. Padel is a physical sport and carries an inherent risk of injury. You confirm that you (or your child) are physically fit to participate, and you must tell us about any medical condition or injury that could affect participation before joining and whenever circumstances change.
8.2. You must follow the instructions of our coaches and the rules of the venue at all times. We may stop a student from participating where we reasonably consider it unsafe.
8.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8.4. Subject to clause 8.3, we are not liable for injuries arising from the ordinary risks of the sport, for events outside our reasonable control, or for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to the venue. Subject to clause 8.3, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Photography and Filming
9.1. Training sessions may be photographed or filmed for coaching and analysis purposes, including video content made available in the app.
9.2. By joining BPT Academy you consent to images and footage that include you (or your child) being used by BPT Academy for coaching and for promoting the academy (for example on our website and social media). You may withdraw this consent at any time by emailing office@bptacademy.uk, and we will stop future use of your image. For students under 18, this consent is given and may be withdrawn by the parent or guardian.
10. Code of Conduct
10.1. We expect all students, parents and spectators to treat coaches, staff, other students and venue facilities with respect. Abusive, discriminatory or dangerous behaviour is not tolerated.
10.2. We may suspend or remove a student for serious or repeated misconduct. Fees are not refundable in that case.
11. Tournaments
11.1. Tournament entry fees are separate from programme fees and are non-refundable unless the tournament is cancelled by us, in which case entry fees will be refunded.
11.2. Draws, seedings, formats and scheduling are at the reasonable discretion of the organisers.
12. App Content and Intellectual Property
12.1. Training videos and other content in the BPT Academy app are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, share, download for redistribution, or publish them elsewhere.
12.2. The BPT Academy name, logo and branding belong to BPT ACADEMY LIMITED and may not be used without our written permission.
13. Privacy
13.1. We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
14.1. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will publish the current version on this page and notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Material changes affecting an active subscription will take effect from your next renewal.
15. General
15.1. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
15.2. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
